HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Funding for replacement of traffic signals at Lincoln Way and Kellogg Avenue RESOLUTION NO. 02-298 RESOLUTION APPROVING IDOT AGREEMENT FOR USTEP FUNDING OF THE REPLACEMENT OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT LINCOLN WAY AND KELLOGG AVENUE FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS,included in the 2002/03 Capital Improvements Plan(CIP)is a prof ect to replace the Kellogg Avenue/Lincoln Way traffic signal; and, WHEREAS, the City submitted an application to the Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT)for an Urban State Transportation Engineering Program (USTEP)Grant for 55%of the cost in December 2001, which was approved; and, WHEREAS, the project includes modifying the signal installation to include all new underground and overhead equipment,which is needed to enhance safety and provide a more reliable operation; and, WHEREAS, the USTEP Grant will cover $79,750 of the total estimated cost of$145,000, and the City's portion of the project costs will be $65,250,which is budgeted in the Road Use Tax Fund. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Urban State Traffic Engineering Program Grant Agreement for traffic signals at Lincoln Way and Kellogg Avenue is hereby approved.
