HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Revisions to Affirmative Action Plan RESOLUTION NO. 02-292 RESOLUTION APPROVING AFFIRMATIVE ACTION ANNUAL ANALYSIS FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, the City of Ames' Affirmative Action Plan and Policy requires that the Affirmative Action Officer perform an availability and utilization analysis at the end of each fiscal year; and, WHEREAS, the purpose of this analysis is to identify areas of the work force that do not mirror the gender and ethnic/minority characteristics of the available qualified population; and, WHEREAS, one policy change was made to delete the provision that required the Human Resources Department to notify the hiring authority when the final group of candidates included a candidate(s)from an under-represented gender or minority group and the hiring authority to provide a compelling reason to the City Manager as to why he or she elected to appoint a candidate who was not a member of an under-represented class. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Affirmative Action Annual Analysis report for Fiscal Year 2000/2001 is hereby approved.
