HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - FBO lease for Ames Municipal Airport RESOLUTION NO. 02-290 RESOLUTION APPROVING TWO-YEAR FIXED-BASE-OPERATOR AND SPECIFIC BUILDINGS LEASE WITH MIDWEST FLYING SERVICE OF IOWA, INC., FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, on January 22, 2002, the City Council directed staff to solicit proposals from individuals who may wish to perform FBO services at the Airport for the next five years starting July 1, 2002; and, WHEREAS,interviews were held with each of the companies submitting proposals,and an Evaluation Committee was appointed by the City Manager to analyze each proposal according to the criteria reflected in the Request for Proposal; and, WHEREAS, after reviewing the information submitted by the Advisory Committee and Evaluation Committee, the City Manager recommended to the City Council that Midwest Flying Service of Iowa, Inc., is offering the best overall proposal for FBO services at the Airport; and, WHEREAS,on April 9,2002,the City Council was unwilling to extend a new five-year lease because of concerns from users that Midwest Flying Service of Iowa,Inc.,may not be able to fulfill the requirements of the new contract terms; and, WHEREAS, the City Council directed staff to negotiate a two-year contract with Midwest Flying Service of Iowa, Inc., that made changes relating to service and promotion. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the two-year Fixed-Base-Operator and Specific Buildings Lease with Midwest Flying Service of Iowa, Inc., for the Ames Municipal Airport is hereby approved.
