HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Waiver of subdivision regulations for 2321 220th Street, Boone County RESOLUTION NO. 02-289 RESOLUTION APPROVING REQUEST FOR WAIVER OF SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS FOR PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY'S TWO-MILE JURISDICTION AT 2321-220TH STREET IN BOONE COUNTY WHEREAS,the owners of 42.56 acres of land located within the two-mile jurisdictional area outside the City's corporate limits on 220'Street in Boone County have requested a waiver of the requirement for approval of a subdivision plat by the City of Ames; and, WHEREAS, the owners wish to divide this property into two lots and defer to the review and approval process of Boone County for the subdivision and platting of this tract of land; and, WHEREAS,the subject site is located to the northwest of the City,well outside the current City of Ames corporate limits and is not located within the Targeted Growth Area of the City; WHEREAS,City staff has been working with staffs from Boone County and Story County to prepare an urban fringe area agreement that would outline the jurisdictional responsibilities of the Counties and the City with regard to subdivision review; and, WHEREAS,the subject site is located in an area that is identified in the draft agreement as an area of sole review responsibility by Boone County. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the request for waiver of the subdivision regulations pertaining to a 42.56-acre tract of land located at 2321- 220th Street in Boone County is hereby approved.
