HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and bond for Construction of Skate Park RESOLUTION NO. 02-280 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SKATE PARK FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the Construction of Skate Park;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 10' day of April, 2002, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the City of Ames Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 5'day of March, 2002; and, WHEREAS, this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of MLS Landscape and Design, Inc., of Granville, Iowa, in the amount of$179,519.30 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and MLS Landscape and Design, Inc., of Granville, Iowa, in the amount of$179,519.30 dated the 23rd day of April, 2002, for Construction of Skate Park as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company of Columbus, Ohio, as surety thereon, in the amount of $179,519.30 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 14th day of May, 2002. ?:�4d. Diane R.
