RESOLUTION APPROVING REVISED RECOMMENDATION FOR
ALLOCATION OF 2002/03 FUNDS FOR
CENTER FOR ADDICTIONS RECOVERY
FOR THE CITY OF AMES
WHEREAS,on April 4,ASSET heard a presentation on behalf of the Center for Addictions
Recovery(CFARI) requesting expansion of its current treatment activities to include treatment of
clients in the Story County Jail; and,
WHEREAS,this would be a pilot program that would be undertaken if a federal grant request
for$75,000 can be secured; and,
WHEREAS,as a part of the grant application,a$25,000 local match must be identified;and,
WHEREAS,the City is being asked to provide$15,000 of the match by reallocating existing
CFARI 2002/03 funding recommendations; and,
WHEREAS,the ASSET recommendation to the City Council would reallocate$7,500 each
from the current 2002/03 group treatment and individual treatment recommendations; and,
WHEREAS, no new dollars are being requested for 2002/03.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the revised recommendation from ASSET for reallocation of$15,000 to CFARI for 2002/03 is
hereby approved.
