HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Waiver of parking on 5th Street for Energy Fair and APBA Road Race RESOLUTION NO. 02-167 RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF PARKING REGULATIONS ON FIFTH STREET ON APRIL 6, 2002, FOR ELECTRIC SERVICES' ENERGY FAIR AND AMES POLICE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION'S ROAD RACE FOR THE CITY OF AMES WHEREAS, on April 6,2002,the Ames Police Benevolent Association will be sponsoring a 5K run/walk to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Ames; and, WHEREAS, also on April 6, 2002, the City of Ames Electric Services will be hosting an Energy Fair in the Community Center; and, WHEREAS, in order to facilitate these two events, staff is requesting that parking enforcement be suspended on Fifth Street(Grand to Clark) and in the east and west City Hall lots from 8 AM to 6 PM for event parking; and, WHEREAS,the CyRide bus stops along Fifth Street south of City Hall will be relocated for the day to Main Streets since the run will require temporary closure of Fifth between Pearle and Clark from 8:30 to 10 AM. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that suspension of parking enforcement on Fifth Street(Grand to Clark)and in the east and west City Hall parking lots is hereby approved from 8 AM to 6 PM on April 6, 2002, to facilitate the Energy Fair and the Ames Police Benevolent Association's 5K run.
