HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Change Order for Hauling and Related Services Contract RESOLUTION NO. 02-154 RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER FOR HAULING AND RELATED SERVICES CONTRACT FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, on April 24, 2001, the Council awarded a contract to Waste Management of Ames for hauling and related services for a period from July 1, 2001, through June 30, 2002; and, WHEREAS,the contract includes furnishing container services and hauling materials from the Resource Recovery Plant(RRP)to the Boone County Landfill; and, WHEREAS,the approved 2001/02 operating budget included$65,000 for this work,and this estimate was based on the prior year contract which was in the amount of$7.40 per ton per round trip; and, WHEREAS, the current contract is in the amount of$10.80 per ton per round trip; and, WHEREAS,due to the increase in cost for hauling and the amount of material being hauled, additional funds are needed to complete the contract for FY 2002; and, WHEREAS,the proposed amendments to the Resource Recovery operating budget includes increasing the total estimated cost to $130,000 for this work. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the change order for the hauling and related services contract with Waste Management of Ames to increase the total estimated cost to $130,000 for 2001/02 is hereby approved.
