HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Urban Revitalization Tax Exemption requests RESOLUTION NO.02-069 RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIOUS URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED ON VARIOUS PROPERTIES WITHIN URBAN REVITALIZATION AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, Heartland Investments has submitted an application dated January 31, 2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 116 Clark Avenue; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Transition Urban Revitalization Area C in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 10Years. WHEREAS, E. Kent and Joan E. Cooper have submitted an application dated December 17,2001,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 511 S. Fourth Street; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the 511 South Fourth Street Revitalization Area in Ames, Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. WHEREAS,Steve Kruger has submitted an application dated July 24,2001,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to properties located at 3408 Emerald Drive; and, WHEREAS,said properties are located within Urban Revitalization Area 6 in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement projects respecting said properties are in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvements on said properties were made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the 1 City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. WHEREAS, Terra Firma, L.P., has submitted an application dated November 6, 2001, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 208 Stanton Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within the Campustown Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years. WHEREAS,Brad, Bob and Judy Stehr have submitted an application dated January 30, 2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2922 West Street; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within the 2922 West Street Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years. WHEREAS,R.Friedrich and Sons,Inc.,have submitted an application dated January 30,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2722 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State 2 of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,R.Friedrich and Sons,Inc.,have submitted an application dated January 30,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2612 Bristol Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,Philip and Tammy Stegman have submitted an application dated January 31,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2817 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,William J. Stein has submitted an application dated January 31,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2425 Camden; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, 3 WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,Marty Denny has submitted an application dated January 30,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2316 Camden; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS, HCS Builders, Inc., has submitted an application dated January 29, 2002, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2830 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS, HCS Builders, Inc., has submitted an application dated January 29, 2002, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2634 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, 4 WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS, HCS Builders, Inc., has submitted an application dated January 29, 2002, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2824 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS, Bruce K. Vertanen has submitted an application dated January 30, 2002, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2529 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,Eldon and Cynthia Vanderzyl has submitted an application dated January 29,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2401 Camden Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. 5 WHEREAS,Regency Builders has submitted an application dated January 18,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2328 Bristol Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS, Scott M. Bakley has submitted an application dated January 7,2002,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2322 Camden Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,Franklin J.and Victoria A.Feilmeyer have submitted an application dated November 19, 2001, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2510 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. 6 WHEREAS,Maohong Fan has submitted an application dated July 25,2001,to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2503 Kent Avenue; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. WHEREAS,Randy and Sharrie Semadeni have submitted an application dated September 17,2001,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 2818 Somerset Drive; and, WHEREAS, said property is located within Somerset Urban Revitalization Area as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3Years. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that said applications are hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward said applications and a copy of this resolution to the Ames City Assessor with a statement complying with the provisions of Section 4 of the Urban Revitalization Act by March 1, 1997.
