HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Final plat and schedule for assessment of Dover Drive Paving Project RESOLUTION NO. 02-020 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AS COMPLETE AND SATISFACTORY WORK DONE UNDER CONTRACT FOR THE DOVER DRIVE PAVING PROJECT (revised); ORDERING FINAL PAYMENT, DETERMINING AMOUNT TO BE ASSESSED; AND ORDERING FINAL PLAT AND SCHEDULE WHEREAS,the City's Engineers have reported that they have inspected the work and find it in compliance with the terms of the contract for the Dover Drive Paving Project(revised); and, WHEREAS, the City Council is now asked to accept said work and authorize payment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa: Section One. The work done pursuant to the contract for the Dover Drive Paving Project (revised) is hereby accepted as complete and satisfactory. Section Two. If, after the thirtieth day from the date of this acceptance no valid claims have been or remain filed against the amounts retained and unpaid underthe contract, and all other performance required of the contractor is found to be completed, the Director of Public Works shall cause the said retained amount to be paid to the contractor, as well as any other amount due the contractor. Section Three. The total cost of the said project is $49,538.54, not more than $49,538.54 of which shall be assessed to the benefitted property owners. Section Four. Within thirty days hereof the engineers shall file with the City Clerk a final assessment schedule showing: a. a description of each lot to be assessed; b. the valuation of each lot as fixed by the Council; C. the amount to be assessed against each lot,which shall include the assessment for the default fund, and the amount of deficiency, which may be subsequently assessed against that lot under Section 384.63, Code of Iowa. Voss, City Clerk Ted Tedesco, Mayor DOVER DRIVE Assessment Boundary Beginning at the N.E. corner of Lot 4-C, Damon Catron's Subdivision and running thence Southerly 233' along the East line of said Lot 4-C to the centerline of Dover Drive, thence Southerly a distance of 218' to a point 78.3' Southwest of the Southeast corner of Lot 8-C on the Southerly line of Lot 8-C, thence Westerly 200' distant from and parallel to the Southerly line of Dover Drive to a point 77' West of the East line of Lot 7- C, Damon Catron's Subdivision, thence around a 250' radius curve 981' to a point 30' East of the West line of Lot 4-C, thence Easterly 200' distant from and parallel to the Northerly line of Dover Drive a distance of 289' to the point of beginning.
