RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINAL ASSESSMENT
SCHEDULE; AND, AMENDING, CONFIRMING, AND
LEVYING ASSESSMENT FOR THE ALLEY PAVING
PROGRAM (NORTH/SOUTH ALLEY BETWEEN SOUTH
2ND STREET AND SOUTH VENUE AND WASH NGTON AD STREET AND WALNUT
A AVENUE) PROJECT
WHEREAS, heretofore and in strict compliance with Chapter 384 of the Code of
Iowa, this Council did, pursuant to Resolution of Necessity duly adopted, order the
construction of the Alley Paving Proram (North/South e and Washington Alley Between South 2nd Street
and South 3rd Street and WalnutAvnue
WHEREAS the said improvement project has been duly completed, the work
accepted and the engineers having filed the final assessment schedule with respect to said
improvement project, which has been fully considered by the Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Ames,
Iowa, as follows:
Section 1. The final assessment schedule filed by the engineers covering the Alley
Paving Program (North/South Alley Between South 2nd Street and South 3rd Street and
Walnut Avenue and Washington Avenue), the same being attached hereto and by this
reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof shall be and the same is hereby
approved and adopted.

Section 4. All unpaid installments shall bear interest at the rate of 3.8 percent
( 3.8 %) per annum from the day of nerember , 20_W_, (that being
the date of acceptance of the work); provided, however, that any such assessments may

Section 5. The first installment of the unpaid assessments shall be due and payable
at the office of the County Treasurer of Story County on first

shall become delinquent after the first day of October, fol owng

additionally, the same delinquent interest as ordinary taxes.
Section 6. Succeeding installments shall become due and payable i likemanner

Section 8. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to certify and file the
final assessment schedule, herein referred to, with the County Treasurer of Story County,
and the Clerk shall thereupon give notice of such certification and filing by publication once
each week for two successive weeks in the Daily Tribune, a legal newspaper printed wholly
in the English language, published at least once weekly and of general circulation in Ames,
Iowa, the first publication to be not more than 15 days after the date of filing of the said
schedule with said County Treasurer, and the Clerk shall mail said notice by mail to each

Section 9. Said notice shall be in form substantially as follows:

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Take notice that the Council of Ames, Iowa,
has adopted a final assessment schedule covering the Alley Paving Program
(North/South Alley Between South 2nd Street and South 3rd Street and
Walnut Avenue and Washington Avenue), which was duly certified to the
County Treasurer of Story County, Iowa, on the 19th day of December
, 20 01 all in accordance with Section 384.60 of the Code of Iowa.
Property within the following described boundaries shall be assessed by
reason of such improvement project:
Assessment Boundaries
Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 6 Block 8 Black's Second Addition
and running thence south to the southwest corner of Lot 15 Block 8 Black's
Second Addition; thence east to a point on the south line of Lot 16 82' east
of the southwest corner thereof; thence north to a point on the north line of
Lot 16 82' east of the northwest corner thereof; thence east to the northeast
corner of Lot 16; thence north to the northeast corner of Lot 4; thence west
to the northwest corner of Lot 4;thence south to the southwest corner of Lot
4; thence west 190' to the point of beginning.
Any assessment may be paid in full or in part without interest within 30 days
after the first published notice of the final assessment schedule, that is not
later than the 25th day of , 20L2--, such payments to
be made at the office of the City of mes Finance Department. Assess-
ments in the amount of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or more which are
not paid in full within the aforementioned time period will be divided into 10
equal annual installments due on the first day of July, commencing July
1, 2002 All unpaid special assessments will draw annual interest at
