RESOLUTION NO. 01-516
RESOLUTION PROPOSING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE BY QUIT
CLAIM DEED OF LAND PERTAINING TO THE VACATED ALLEY IN
SOMERSET SUBDIVISION, SIXTH ADDITION,AMES, IOWA.
BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council for the City of Ames, Iowa:
Section One. That it is hereby proposed that the right, title and interest of the City of Ames, Iowa
in certain land constituting a vacated alley in Somerset Subdivision, Sixth Addition, more
specifically described as:
A twenty-four foot wide strip of land east of and abutting all along the west line of
Lots 18 through 75 of Somerset Subdivision, Sixth Addition, Ames, Iowa,
be conveyed by Quit Claim Deed to: Erben A.Hunziker Revocable Trust,Donald and Ruth Furman
Revocable Trust, and R. Friedrich and Sons, Inc. in consideration of$1.00 and other valuable
consideration and the granting back to the City of an easement for public utilities over the west eight
feet of the said land,and construction and maintenance on said west eight feet,at no cost to the City,
of a bicycle path conforming to the standards and specifications of the City of Ames, Iowa.
Section Two. A public hearing on the proposed conveyance as aforesaid shall be held as required
by law to coincide with the Ames City Council meeting of November 27,2001,which will begin at
7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 515 Clark, Ames, Iowa.
