RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE OFFER OF J.C. WILSON OF
THE FLYING MARSUPIALS BAND
TO PURCHASE THE 1985 GERSTENSLAGER BOOKMOBILE
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, a new Matthews bookmobile was purchased and placed into service for the
Ames Public Library; and,
WHEREAS, this unit replaced the 1985 Gerstenslager bookmobile; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Equipment Services received an unsolicited offer from J.C.
Wilson of The Flying Marsupials Band of Des Moines,Iowa,to purchase this unit for$3,500; and,
WHEREAS, staff has determined that this is a fair offer and that rejecting this offer and
attempting to solicit written bids might result in a lower sale price.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the offer of J.C. Wilson of The Flying Marsupials Band of Des Moines, Iowa, in the amount
of$3,500 to purchase the 1985 Gerstenslager bookmobile is hereby accepted.
ADOPTED THIS 13th day of November, 2001.
