HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Revision to Non-Domestic Waste Pretreatment Program RESOLUTION NO. 01-435 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REVISED NON-DOMESTIC HEADWORKS MASS LOCAL LIMITS FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,in 1992,City Council approved revisions to the Non-Domestic Waste Pretreatment Program; and, WHEREAS, staff uses this Program to monitor and regulate the non-domestic wastewater discharged from industrial customers; and, WHEREAS, the Program specifies how industrial discharges are reviewed, permitted, and monitored; and, WHEREAS, currently there are 16 permits for non-domestic wastewater; and, WHEREAS,each permit specifies both the quantity and quality ofnon-domestic wastewater that may be discharged into the City's sanitary sewer system; and, WHEREAS,federal regulations require the City to re-evaluate the local limits when submitting an application for NPDES permit renewal; and, WHEREAS, existing local limits are in the form of maximum concentration discharged from the individual industry; and, WHEREAS, the revised limits are in the form of maximum mass allowed into the Plant. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa, that the revised non-domestic headworks mass Local Limits for the City of Ames Non-Domestic Waste Pretreatment Program are hereby approved.
