HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Ames High School Homecoming Parade Traffic Control RESOLUTION NO. 01-416 RESOLUTION APPROVING REQUEST FOR WAIVER OF COSTS FOR TRAFFIC CONTROL FOR AMES HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING PARADE FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, the Ames High School Homecoming Committee has requested it be allowed to have a homecoming parade on October 8,2001, commencing at 6:30 p.m.which would be routed along Fifth Street, Clark Avenue, Main Street, and back to Bandshell Park; and, WHEREAS,barricades will be placed on streets along this route for traffic-control purposes and will be manned by Ames High School officials; and, WHEREAS,police assistance will be needed at the two Duff Avenue intersections at Fifth Street and Main Street to direct traffic, the cost of which has been requested to be waived by the parade organizers. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the request from the Ames High School Committee for a waiver of the costs for traffic control and police officers for the Homecoming Parade on October 8, 2001, is hereby approved.
