HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Neighborhood Improvement Projects for 2001/02 RESOLUTION NO. 01-388 RESOLUTION APPROVING EXPENDITURES FOR NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR 2001/02 FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, for the sixth consecutive year, the City Council appropriated $50,000 from Local Option Sales Tax receipts to finance the Neighborhood Improvement Program; and, WHEREAS,the purposes of this program are: 1)to strengthen a neighborhood's appearance with the addition of permanent physical improvements; and, 2) to promote a greater sense of community through resident participation in a neighborhood project; and, WHEREAS,three additional applications have been received byNorth Park Villa,Old Town Neighborhood, and Somerset Crecent Park; and, WHEREAS, if the Council decides to fund these three projects, $40,351 will remain of the funds set aside for this program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the expenditure of$8,649 for the three above-mentioned Neighborhood Improvement Program projects is hereby approved.
