HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - 28E Agreement for video-conferencing technology RESOLUTION NO. 01-347 RESOLUTION APPROVING 28E AGREEMENT BETWEEN STORY COUNTY AND THE CITY OF AMES FOR VIDEO-CONFERENCING TECHNOLOGY WHEREAS,the Story County Board of Supervisors has entered into a contract with a private firm (Enlighten) to provide the necessary software and hardware to allow for video-conferencing capabilities,with the primary benefactors being court-related activities; and, WHEREAS,rather than traveling across the County to conduct certain evidentiary hearings at a central location, information can be obtained through video conferencing; and, WHEREAS, the Supervisors inquired as to whether the City of Ames would like access to this new capability; and, WHEREAS, the possibilities for utilization of video-conferencing capabilities by our City organization are not entirely known, but it could, among other things, enhance our training and recruitment efforts; and, WHEREAS, the Supervisors have agreed to a cost of $1,200 for the first year and are requesting only a one year commitment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the 28E Agreement between the City of Ames and Story County for participation in video- conferencing capabilities for a one-year period of time, commencing July 2001, at a rate of $100/month is hereby approved.
