RESOLUTION APPROVING REQUEST TO WAIVE
SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS FOR PROPERTY LOCATED
WITHIN THE TWO-MILE JURISDICTION LIMIT OF AMES
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, the property owner is proposing to subdivide a 3.43-acre lot into four single-
family residential lots; and,
WHEREAS,the site is generally located at the southeast corner of U.S. Hwy. 69 and 193rd
Street, north of the Ames city limits, and east of the Oaks Golf Course; and,
WHEREAS, in order to meet the City's requirements for subdivision,the applicants would
be required to install public infrastructure to City standards, including water mains, sanitary sewer
mains, storm sewer, curb and gutter, sidewalks, street lights, and street trees on all public streets;
and,
WHEREAS, the applicant is requesting that the Council waive the requirements for
sidewalks, dry sanitary sewer, curb and gutter, street lights, and street trees; and,
WHEREAS, the applicants propose to use rural water or wells and septic systems for the
subdivision as well as utilize the existing public and private streets without any further
improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the request to waive the requirements for installation of infrastructure for the residential
subdivision located at the southeast corner of U.S.Highway 69 and Cameron School Road is hereby
approved.
