HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Abandonment of easement on Lot 2, O'Rourke Subdivision RESOLUTION NO. 01-278 RESOLUTION APPROVING ABANDONMENT OF PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT DESCRIBED AS THE EAST 10' OF THE WEST 205' OF LOT 2, O'ROURKE SUBDIVISION, FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, Steve O'Rourke has requested that the City abandon the utility easement that exists over the east ten feet of the west 205 feet of Lot 2, O'Rourke Subdivision; and, WHEREAS, this easement was given to the City and other utility companies in 1995 in anticipation that a water line and electric lines would be extended to mini-storage buildings that Mr. O'Rourke planned to construct on his property; and, WHEREAS, Mr. O'Rourke did not complete the mini-storage project, and the City has no need for this particular utility easement; and, WHEREAS,staff has determined that there are no utilities located in the utility easement and does not object to abandoning this utility easement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa, that the abandonment of a utility easement in the east ten feet of the west 205' of Lot 2 in the O'Rourke Subdivision is hereby approved. ADOPTED THIS 26th day of June, 2001.
