HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Waiver of public improvements requirements for property within 2-mile fringe RESOLUTION NO. 01-182 RESOLUTION APPROVING WAIVER OF INFRASTRUCTURE REQUIREMENTS FOR A SINGLE-LOT SUBDIVISION WITHIN THE 2-MILE JURISDICTION OUTSIDE THE CITY'S CORPORATE LIMITS ON WEST RIVERSIDE ROAD WHEREAS, Douglas Ward and Linda Glantz-Ward wish to construct a single-family dwelling on a lot on West Riverside Road; and, WHEREAS,they are in the process of purchasing a 4.43-acre parcel,which is being split off of an 80-acre site; and, WHEREAS, in order to meet the city's requirements for subdivision, the Wards would be required to install City infrastructure(water main,sanitary sewer main,storm sewer,curb and gutter, and sidewalk); and, WHEREAS, in this situation, staff believes that installing these improvements now would be ill-advised since the improvement plans for this infrastructure have not been completed and will not be completed for some time in the future; and, WHEREAS, the Wards propose to use rural water and install a septic system, which are acceptable methods of water service and waste disposal for this situation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that a waiver to the Subdivision Ordinance for the installation of infrastructure for this 4.43-acre lot on West Riverside Road is hereby granted. ADOPTED THIS 8th day of May, 2001.
