RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
U.S.HWY.30/SOUTH DAKOTA AVENUE INTERCHANGE
BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA,AND PROVIDING FOR
NOTICE OF HEARING AND THE TAKING OF BIDS
IN CONNECTION THEREWITH
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, in conjunction with the Iowa Department of
Transportation,has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary to construct the U.S.Hwy.30/South Dakota Avenue
Interchange Bridge Construction Project for the City of Ames; and,
WHEREAS,the City Council deems it necessary and proper to adopt proposed plans,specifications,and form of
contract as filed with the City Clerk on the 5th day of April, 2001; and,
WHEREAS,it is necessary to fix a time and place of hearing on said proposed plans, specifications and form of
contract and to provide for the taking of bids in connection therewith and to give notice thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
Section 1. The proposed plans, specifications and form of contract for the U.S. Hwy. 30/South Dakota Avenue
Interchange Bridge Construction Project within the City of Ames, Iowa, are hereby approved, and the 22nd day
of May,2001, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, City Hall,Ames, Iowa,hereby fixed as the time and place
of hearing on said proposed plans,specifications,and form of contract,and also the time and place of considering
bids in connection therewith. Sealed bids will be received until 9:00 a.m. on the 15th day of May, 2001, in the
IDOT Office of Contracts, 1020 Fourth Street,Ames,or at its official depository on the 3rd Floor of the Marriott
Hotel in Des Moines, at which time they shall be opened and announced.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to give notice of said hearing on said proposed plans,
specifications,and form of contract,and of the taking of bids,by publication of such notice,once,not less than four
nor more than twenty days before the time of said hearing,unless otherwise provided by State law, and having a
general circulation in the City of Ames, Iowa. Said notice shall be in substantially the following form:

Section 3. All provisions set out in said form of contract and notice are hereby recognized and prescribed by this
Council,and all resolutions or orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
