RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIOUS URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX
EXEMPTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED ON VARIOUS PROPERTIES WITHIN
URBAN REVITALIZATION AREAS
WITHIN THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS,Dickson and Luann Jensen have submitted an application dated January 18, 2001,to the
City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value
added by improvements to property located at 608 Douglas Avenue; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within Transition Urban Revitalization Area B in Ames,Iowa,as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years.

WHEREAS,Heartland Investments has submitted an application dated January 30, 2001, to the City
Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added
by improvements to property located at 116 Clark Avenue; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within Transition Urban Revitalization Area C in Ames,Iowa,as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years.

WHEREAS, Ted and Dawn Sage have submitted an application dated January 30, 2001, to the City
Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added
by improvements to properties located at 218 and 232 South Walnut Avenue; and,
WHEREAS,said properties are located within Transition Urban Revitalization Area E in Ames,Iowa,
as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement projects respecting said properties are in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,

WHEREAS, the improvements on said properties were made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the
City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the
Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years for each property.

WHEREAS,Abrego Ames,Inc.,has submitted an application dated May 2,2000,to the City Council
of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by
improvements to property located at 229 South Duff Avenue; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within Transition Urban Revitalization Area G in Ames,Iowa,as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years.

WHEREAS, Hested-Cornwell, L.C., has submitted an application dated July 28, 2000, to the City
Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added
by improvements to property located at 258 N. Hyland; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within Transition Urban Revitalization Area L in Ames, Iowa, as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years.

WHEREAS, First American Bank has submitted an application dated January 31, 2001, to the City
Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added
by improvements to property located at 203 Southeast 16th Street; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within Transition Urban Revitalization Area M in Ames,Iowa,as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use

Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 5 Years.

WHEREAS, Campus Pointe, L.L.C., has submitted an application dated July 18, 2000, to the City
Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added
by improvements to property located at 150 Campus Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within the 150 Campus Avenue Urban Revitalization Area in
Ames,Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years.

WHEREAS,Edward Sorenson has submitted an application dated June 28,2000,to the City Council
of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by
improvements to property located at 316 Lincoln Way; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within the 316 Lincoln Way Transition Urban Revitalization in
Ames,Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years.

WHEREAS, Tajma,L.L.C.,has submitted an application dated July 19, 2000, to the City Council of
the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by
improvements to property located at 325 Welch Avenue; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within the 325 Welch Avenue Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,
Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and,

WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 10 Years.

WHEREAS, Hanson Homes, Inc., has submitted an application dated January 31, 2001, to the City
Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added
by improvements to property located at 2922 West Street; and,
WHEREAS,said property is located within the 2922 West Street Urban Revitalization Area in Ames,
Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use
Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements
are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of
the City of Ames,Iowa,and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State
of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule: 3 Years.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that said
applications are hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward said
applications and a copy of this resolution to the Ames City Assessor with a statement complying with the
provisions of Section 4 of the Urban Revitalization Act by March 1, 1997.
