HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and Bond for South Duff Avenue Trail Project, Phase I RESOLUTION NO. 00-492 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SOUTH DUFF AVENUE TRAIL PROJECT, PHASE I FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such project having been designated as the South Duff Avenue Trail Project,Phase I; and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received by the Iowa Department of Transportation(IDOT) on October 3, 2000; and, WHEREAS,the IDOT has determined,and the City Council of Ames,Iowa,has concurred,that the bid of Peterson Contractors,Inc.,of Reinbeck,Iowa,in the amount of$258,669.89 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, as the contracting authority, and Peterson Contractors, Inc., of Reinbeck, Iowa, in the amount of$258,669.89 dated the 1 Oth day of October,2000,for the construction of the South Duff Avenue Trail Project,Phase I as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with Seaboard Surety Company of Baltimore, Maryland, as surety thereon,in the amount of$258,669.89 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 24th day of October, 2000. Diane R.
