RESOLUTION APPROVING MODIFICATIONS TO AGREEMENT
WITH IOWA DOT PERTAINING TO THE RECONSTRUCTION OF
THE INTERSECTION OF LINCOLN WAY AND GRAND AVENUE
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, on August 22, 2000, the City Council approved a project agreement for the
reconstruction of Lincoln Way and Grand Avenue intersection that stipulated various responsibilities
of the Iowa DOT and the City as to how the project was to be shared; and,
WHEREAS,recently,the Iowa DOT and City staff have agreed that constructing part of the
water main on Lincoln Way crossing Grand Avenue and reconstructing the well line crossing on
Grand Avenue should be done with the street reconstruction project rather than boring and casing
these mains under the paving; and,
WHEREAS, this work has now been included in the Iowa DOT Lincoln Way and Grand
Avenue Reconstruction Project and deleted from the City's project to install the water main; and,
WHEREAS,the Agreement has been revised to reflect these changes and states that the City
will reimburse the Iowa DOT 100%of the bid cost to install the water main and well line crossings
on Grand Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the revised project agreement with the Iowa DOT pertaining to the Reconstruction of the
Intersection of Lincoln Way and Grand Avenue is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 24th day of October, 2000.
