HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amendment to Rezoning Agreement for Tax Abatement in Somerset Village RESOLUTION NO. 00-485 RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT TO REZONING AGREEMENT TO ADD ADDITIONAL STIPULATION TO APPROVAL OF TAX ABATEMENT FOR NEW RESIDENTIAL AND RETAIL CONSTRUCTION IN SOMERSET VILLAGE FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, on September 26, 2000, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 00-459 approving the request of Somerset Village Developers to amend the Rezoning Agreement to provide for a three-year 100% tax abatement to all new residential and retail construction; and, WHEREAS, that approval was given contingent upon the developers adhering to eight stipulations; and, WHEREAS, at their meeting of October 10, 2000, the City Council placed an additional stipulation on its approval of tax abatement for Somerset Village; and, WHEREAS, in addition to the previously agreed to stipulations, the developers: will allow all real estate agents to sell property in Somerset Village and the developers will honor granting the $1,000 bonus to all real estate agents who sell property in Somerset Village. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that an amendment to the existing Rezoning Agreement to add a ninth stipulation, as above-written, to the approval of tax abatement for Somerset Village is hereby approved.
