HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and Bond for Construction of Elwood Drive Bike Trail Project, Phase II RESOLUTION NO. 00-470 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF ELWOOD DRIVE BIKE TRAIL PROJECT,PHASE II FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Elwood Drive Bike Trail Project,Phase II;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received by the Iowa Department of Transportation(IDOT) on August 22,2000; and, WHEREAS,the IDOT has determined, and the City Council of Ames,Iowa,has concurred,that the bid of Manatt's, Inc., of Brooklyn, Iowa, in the amount of$43,451.46 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, as the contracting authority, and Manatt's,Inc., of Brooklyn,Iowa,in the amount of$43,451.46 dated the 12th day of September, 2000,for the construction of the Elwood Drive Bike Trail Project,Phase H as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company(Mutual) of Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$43,451.46 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 1 Oth day of October, 2000. Diane R.
