Plan of Section 8 Program RESOLUTION NO. 00-442 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HOUSING COORDINATOR TO AMEND THE ADMINISTRATIVE PLAN,AS NEEDED, IN ACCORDANCE WITH HUD'S REGULATIONS OF THE SECTION 8 RENTAL SUBSIDY PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,as part ofthe administration ofthe Section 8 Rental Housing Subsidy Programs, all Public Housing Authorities (PHAs) are required to revise their discretionary policies and procedures in their Administrative Plans to conform with HUD's regulations of the Section 8 Rental Housing Subsidy Programs; and, WHEREAS,it is certain that Congress and HUD are in the process of issuing more changes to the Section 8 Program regulations and also, from time to time, changes and/or clarifications will need to be made to the Program's Administrative Plan that will allow it to be administered more efficiently and effectively, and, WHEREAS, in order to be able to implement the changes in a more timely manner, staff is requesting that the Housing Coordinator, after consultation when required with the Resident Advisory Board,be authorized to make minor changes,clarifications,and or additions to the City's Section 8 Rental Housing Subsidy Program Administrative Plan, as needed; and, WHEREAS, staff will notify the City Council as these changes are made and of any impact the changes will have on the Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Housing Coordinator is hereby authorized to make minor revisions to the Administrative Plan, as needed, in accordance with the Department of Housing and Urban Development's regulations of the City's Section 8 Rental Subsidy Program.
