HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Approving land purchases for U.S. 30 and South Dakota Avenue interchange RESOLUTION NO. 00-415 RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE PRICES FOR PARCELS ON NORTH SIDE OF PROPOSED INTERCHANGE OWNED BY MEADOW WOOD ASSOCIATES, THE ISU FOUNDATION, AND TERRA FIRMA LP FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, over the past several years staff has been working to complete the layout and design of an interchange to be constructed at the intersection of South Dakota Avenue and U. S. #30; and, WHEREAS, the interchange will provide more direct access from the west side of the community to U. S. #30, and thus reduce the trips on the east/west routes in the area; and, WHEREAS, it is also important to the commercial area at the intersection of South Dakota Avenue and Mortensen Road; and, WHEREAS, the land acquisition involves six parcels held by four owners; and, WHEREAS,the following offers have been made and accepted by the owners of the parcels on the north side: Meadow Wood Associates (#1, Residential) $ 49,400 Terra Firm LP (Parcel#5, Residential) $ 1,122,800 Terra Firm LP (Parcel#4, Commercial) $ 480,000 ISU Foundation(Parcel#6, Agricultural) $ 1,000 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa, that the purchases prices for the parcels on the north side of the proposed interchange, as listed above, are hereby approved.
