Home My WebLink About~Master - Carryover and Purchase of Fleet Replacement Units RESOLUTION NO. 00-353 RESOLUTION APPROVING CARRYOVER OF FLEET REPLACEMENT UNITS FROM FISCAL YEAR 1999/2000 TO FISCAL YEAR 2000/01 AND AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT UNITS FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, several vehicles or pieces of equipment approved for replacement in Fiscal Year(FY) 1999/2000 were not replaced due to factors involving manufacturers' order closing dates,departments' desires to re-evaluate their needs, and time required to write specs,bid,and order before year-end; and, WHEREAS,staff requests authorization to replace the following units be carried over from FY 1999/2000 to FY 2000/2001; and, WHEREAS,all funds are either available in the Equipment Fund or the specific operating department's budget; WHEREAS,the equipment to be replaced is as follows: Pickup to replace#3096 for Traffic $19,000 Truck to replace#154 for Parks Maintenance 32,700 Truck to replace#3063 for Utility Maintenance 30,000 Motor grader to replace#209 for Streets 60,000 Loader/Backhoe to replace#18 for Utility Maintenance 54,000 Sweeper to replace#405 for Resource Recovery 30,000 Forklift to replace#315 for Resource Recovery 8,400 Two mowers to replace#272 and#282 for ROW Maintenance 9,000 Trailer to replace#358 for ROW 1,700 Mower to replace#3081 for Water Plant 4,000 Pump to replace#659 for Power Plant 1,700 Snow plow to replace#615 for Parks Maintenance 3,000 Truck to replace#3076 for ROW Maintenance 37,000 Total Estimated Replacement Cost $290,500 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa, that the above-listed carryover items from FY 1999/2000 to FY 2000/01 are approved and staff is authorized to purchase the appropriate replacement items.
