HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Annexation Agreement for Ferguson Subdivision RESOLUTION NO. 00-320 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ANNEXATION AGREEMENT FOR FERGUSON SUBDIVISION FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, in October 1997, the property owners generally referred to as the "Ferguson Subdivision"petitioned the City for annexation; and, WHEREAS, on August 23, 1999, this Petition for Annexation was reviewed by the City Council and was tabled subject to the following: (1)receiving the results of the Annexation Study, (2)working out the details in the Annexation Agreement,(3)determining the benefits to the City to be derived from this annexation, and(4) identifying the initial costs to be borne by the City; and, WHEREAS,the Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed this request at their meeting of October 7, 1998 and recommended that the Petition to annex be approved with the following stipulation: 1. That the petitioners sign an Annexation Agreement that addresses the cost items outlined in the analysis of the Annexation Petition. WHEREAS, all of the annexation petitioners have signed the Annexation Agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Annexation Agreement pertaining to the Ferguson Subdivision is hereby approved and the date at which action on the request to annex this area will be finalized set as July 11, 2000.
