RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF
13TH STREET AND DUFF AVENUE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT
CONTRACT 1 - TRAFFIC SIGNALS
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain
improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the 13th Street
and Duff Avenue Intersection Improvement Contract 1 -Traffic Signals;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids
were received on the 6th day of June, 2000, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by
the City of Ames Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 9th day of May, 2000; and,
WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Iowa Signal and Electric Company of
Des Moines,Iowa,in the amount of$141,196.87 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said
project; and,
WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said
contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows:
Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Iowa Signals and Electric Company of Des
Moines,Iowa,in the amount of$141,196.87 dated the 13th day of June,2000,for the construction of the
13th Street and Duff Avenue Intersection Improvement Contract 1 -Traffic Signals as provided for in the
detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said
contractor with Old Republic Surety Company of Brookfield,Wisconsin,as surety thereon,in the amount
of$141,196.87 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved.
Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend
of such conflict.
ADOPTED THIS 27th day of June, 2000.
