HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Funding Agreement for South Duff Avenue/South 16th Street Modification Project RESOLUTION NO. 00-257 RESOLUTION APPROVING A HAZARD ELIMINATION SAFETY PROGRAM FUNDING AGREEMENT FOR THE SOUTH DUFF/SOUTH 16TH STREET INTERSECTION MODIFICATION PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,the City has been awarded Hazard Elimination Safety(HES)Program funds for the South Duff/South 16th Street Intersection Modification Proj ect that has been programmed in the City's Capital Improvement Plan for implementation in 2000; and, WHEREAS, this project was eligible to receive HES funding since the location (South 16th/Duff) was listed among the top 100 intersections in the state with the highest accident experience; and, WHEREAS, the South Duff/South 16th Street Modification project consists of widening South Duff s northbound approach to align the corresponding left-turn lanes and to construct a northbound right-turn lane; and, WHEREAS,the estimated cost of this proposed project is$155,970 of which$149,190 will be covered by Iowa DOT funding and the City's share will be $6,780; and, WHEREAS,the City's share was initially budgeted at$90,000 of General Obligation bond money. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Hazard Elimination Safety Program Funding Agreement for the South Duff/South 16th Street Intersection Modification Project is hereby approved.
