HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Amending 28E Agreement, Ames/Story County Affordable Housing Program RESOLUTION NO. 00-193 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 28-E AGREEMENT WITH THE PARTICIPATING CITIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE AMES/STORY COUNTY AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, a 1999 award of a Local Housing Assistance Program (LHAP) grant in the amount of $400,000 allowed for the establishment of a Story County Housing Bank to create affordable housing opportunities in Ames/Story County; and, WHEREAS, the 28-E Agreement between the partners, signed in April 1999, outlines the responsibilities of each participant as they relate to the county-wide study and LHAP grant requirements; and, WHEREAS, one of the stipulations of the Agreement excluded the City of Ames from participating in any of the programs until after June 30, 2000; and, WHEREAS, staff met with the partners in March 2000 to get feedback on the City of Ames becoming an eligible participant after June 30, 2000; and WHEREAS,the partners are recommending that Ames become eligible as of July 2000,but that the number of homebuyers assisted be limited to no more than ten homebuyers for the first year of participation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the 28-E Agreement with the participating cities in connection with the Ames/Story County Affordable Housing Program is amended to state that the number of homebuyers to be assisted in the City of Ames will be limited to no more than ten participants for the first year of their eligibility (July 1, 2000, thru June 30, 2001).
