HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Renewing Contract for Hauling to Boone County Landfill RESOLUTION NO. 00-171 RESOLUTION APPROVING RENEWAL OF CONTRACT WITH WASTE MANAGEMENT OF AMES FOR HAULING AND RELATED SERVICES FROM THE RESOURCE RECOVERY PLANT TO THE BOONE COUNTY LANDFILL FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS, on February 10, 1998,City Council awarded a contract to Freel Sanitation Co. of Ames for hauling and related services for the Resource Recovery Plant during the 1998/99 fiscal year; and, WHEREAS, on March 23, 1999, City Council approved the first of two optional extension periods for this contract; and, WHEREAS, during the 1999/2000 period, Waste Management of Ames took over this operation when they purchased Freel Sanitation; and, WHEREAS, the period July 1, 2000, thru June 30, 2001, is the second of the two optional extension periods, which are contingent upon approval of funding by the City Council; and, WHEREAS, the approved FY 2000/02 budget includes $75,000 for this work; and, WHEREAS, under the contract adjustment clause, the contract price would increase to $.2314/mile/ton for 2000/01, increasing the cost for a round trip to the Boone County Landfill to $7.405/ton. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the renewal option for 2000/01 hauling and related services for the Resource Recovery Plant to Waste Management of Ames in the amount of$.2314/mile/ton is hereby approved.
