HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and Bond for Airport Security Fencing Project RESOLUTION NO. 00-154 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF AIRPORT SECURITY FENCING PROJECT FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Airport Security Fencing Project;and,pursuant to notice and hearing,bids were received on the 21 st day of March, 2000, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the City of Ames Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 22nd day of February, 2000; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of ECInc.of Cedar Rapids,Iowa, in the amount of$30,823.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project;and, WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and ECInc. of Cedar Rapids,Iowa, in the amount of$30,823.00,dated the 28th day of March,2000,for the construction of the Airport Security Fencing Project as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Selective Insurance Company of America of Branchville,New Jersey,as surety thereon,in the amount of$30,823.00 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 18th day of April, 2000 Diane R.
