RESOLUTION APPROVING A WAIVER OF
RIGHT-OF-WAY STANDARD
FOR DAUNTLESS SUBDIVISION, 4TH ADDITION,
TO THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS,the right-of-way required in the subdivision regulations for commercial streets
is 66' in width; and,
WHEREAS, the developers are proposing a right-of-way for Dickinson Avenue of 60' in
width; and,
WHEREAS, the reason for the difference in the right-of-way is that the new subdivision
regulations have increased the standard for commercial streets when compared to the previous
standard; and,
WHEREAS, staff agrees that in this instance it is acceptable that the right-of-way remain at
60' as proposed so that there is uniformity in the street right-of-way for this segment of Dickinson
Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,
that a waiver of right-of-way standard for Dauntless Subdivision, 4th Addition, allowing for the
Dickinson Avenue right-of-way to be 60' in width, is hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 28th day of March, 2000.
