RESOLUTION NO. 00-0n9
RESOLUTION TO PROCEED WITH THIRTEENTH STREET
AND DUFF AVENUE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT AND
AUTHORIZING PROPERTY ACQUISITION BY
CONDEMNATION AS NEEDED
BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa that the City staff shall
proceed with the Thirteenth Street and Duff Avenue Reconstruction project,including acquisition
of property rights necessary for that project by condemnation as needed after good faith negotiations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and
empowered to determine the amount of just compensation for each and every property or interest in
property to be acquired for said project,those determinations to be made on the basis of appraisals
and estimates of compensation in accordance with Ames City Council Resolution No. 99-340
enacted September 14, 1999. In no case shall the amount offered on behalf of the City of Ames for
acquisition of a property be less than the lowest appraisal of the fair market value of the property.
