RESOLUTION ADOPTING REVISIONS TO THE CITY'S SECTION 8
RENTAL ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRATIVE PLAN
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, effective October 1, 1999, as part of the Conforming Regulatory Rules and
Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998, all Public Housing Authorities (PHA) are
required to revise their discretionary policies and procedures in their Administrative Plans to
conform with the new Statutory merger Regulations of the Section 8 tenant-based Certificate and
Voucher Programs; and,
WHEREAS, staff recently attended a meeting with HUD staff and found that some of our
policies and procedures need to be revised to be in compliance with the new regulations and others
made for better program efficiency; and,
WHEREAS, the revisions are required to be approved by the PHA's City Council with a
copy forwarded to HUD.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the revisions pertaining to the "Maximum Initial Rent Burden" (24 CFR 982.505) and
"Minimum Rent"(24 CFR 982.508553)pertaining to the Section 8 Rental Assistance Administrative
Plan for the City of Ames are hereby approved.
ADOPTED THIS 14th day of December, 1999.
