HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Authorizing Matching Funds for Airport Improvements to Taxiway 13/31 RESOLUTION NO. 99-438 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MATCHING FUNDS FOR AIRPORT IMPROVEMENTS TO TAXIWAY 13131 FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, on November 13, 1997,the City Council accepted the completion of a master plan update for the Ames Municipal Airport; and, WHEREAS,this plan examined all the needs of the airport and recommends improvements to keep the infrastructure in safe condition; and, WHEREAS, each year, the City submits a copy of the improvements requesting Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) funding to the Iowa Department of Transportation, which is then forwarded to the FAA for consideration; and, WHEREAS, to date,the City has received two grants through this process with this master plan update; and, WHEREAS, the 1990/2000 CIP includes a project for the rehabilitation of Taxiway 13/31, and the FAA has authorized funds to include the northern part of this taxiway as well; and, WHEREAS,the total estimated cost for the project is$569,074 with the FAA portion being $512,166 and the City's share being$56,908. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the matching funds for pavement improvements for Taxiway 13/31 are hereby approved.
