RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIOUS URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX
EXEMPTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED ON VARIOUS PROPERTIES
WITHIN URBAN REVITALIZATION AREAS
WITHIN THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS,Charles R. Smith and Annette J.Mueterthies have submitted an application dated
March 10, 1999, to the City Council ofthe City ofAmes,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from
taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 618 Ninth Street; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area A in Ames, Iowa, as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule A.

WHEREAS,Dickson D.Jensen and Luann C.Jensen have submitted an application dated April
13, 1999, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from
taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 608 Douglas Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area B in Ames, Iowa, as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule C.

WHEREAS,Lester J. Campbell and Norma L. Campbell have submitted an application dated
April 8, 1999,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from
taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 419 Lincoln Way; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area C in Ames, Iowa, as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,

WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule A.

WHEREAS,Hyland Heights Apartments,L.L.C., has submitted an application dated March 18,
1999,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation
on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 101 North Hyland; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area D in Ames, Iowa, as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule A.

on the actual value added by improvements to properties located at 218 and 232 South Walnut Avenue;
and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area E in Ames, Iowa, as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule C.

Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule C.

WHEREAS,Dayton Hudson Corporation has submitted an application dated June 18, 1999,to
the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the
actual value added by improvements to property located at 320 South Duff Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area H in Ames, Iowa, as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as
adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule C.

actual value added by improvements to property located at 316 South Duff Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area H in Ames, Iowa, as
previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and,
WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban
Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the
Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such
improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted
by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as

adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule A.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that
said applications are hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward
said applications and a copy of this resolution to the Ames City Assessor with a statement complying
with the provisions of Section 4 of the Urban Revitalization Act by March 1, 1997.
