Home My WebLink About~Master - Construction Contract, Bond for Roof Replacement at Transit Building RESOLUTION NO. 99-355 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF ROOF REPLACEMENT FOR STORAGE AND MAINTENANCE AREAS FOR AMES TRANSIT AGENCY BUILDING FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Roof Replacement for Storage and Maintenance Areas for Ames Transit Agency Building; and,pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 31 st day of August, 1999, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the City of Ames Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 27th day of July, 1999; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Central States Roofing Company of Ames,Iowa,in the amount of$114,800.00 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames, Iowa, and Central States Roofing Company of Ames, Iowa, in the amount of $114,800.00, dated the 14th day of September, 1999, for the construction of the Roof Replacement for Storage and Maintenance Areas for Ames Transit Agency Building as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual) of Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$114,800.00 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 28th day of September, 1999. Diane R.
