HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Approving Fourth Amendment to Somerset Subdivision Agreement RESOLUTION NO. 99-343 RESOLUTION APPROVING FOURTH AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT FOR REZONING, PLATTING,AND DEVELOPMENT OF SOMERSET SUBDIVISION FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,the Agreement for Rezoning,Platting,and Development of land in the City of Ames called Somerset Subdivision contains a series of architectural pattern guidelines that create guidance on how building and site improvements are to occur in the Subdivision; and, WHEREAS, one of the provisions requires the construction of garden walls along any side lot line or front lot line where no building is present, said walls to be constructed of brick or stone with a horizontal coping; and, WHEREAS,the developers are seeking an amendment that would allow for the garden walls to be constructed of brick piers with wrought iron or wooden fence infills between the piers; and, WHEREAS, staff believes that the Agreement should be amended to state that brick piers with wrought iron fence infills or wooden fence infills between brick piers is a suitable alternative. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa, that the Fourth Amendment to the Agreement for Rezoning,Platting,and Development of Somerset Subdivision is hereby approved.
