HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Approving Urban Revitalization Program matrix RESOLUTION NO. 99-305 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE URBAN REVITALIZATION PROGRAM CRITERIA MATRICES FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, the City Council recently gave direction to the staff to create a greater degree of detail to be included in a criteria matrix for the administration of the Urban Revitalization Program; and, WHEREAS, Council has decided that the Urban Revitalization tax incentive would be limited to areas that are zoned multiple-family or commercial; and, WHEREAS,it has also been determined that the City Council wants to administer the Urban Revitalization Program on a case-by-case basis where the property owner would be required to convince the City Council of the merits of an development proposal that would need the tax abatement incentive; and, WHEREAS,the matrices list criteria applicable for multiple-family and commercial uses of property; and, WHEREAS, in each instance, the property in question must display one or two required conditions before it can be determined that it is eligible to be considered further for tax abatement incentive. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the Urban Revitalization criteria matrices pertaining to multiple-family and commercial projects attached to this Resolution are hereby approved.
