HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Approving Amended PUD for Willow Creek Estates, Third Addition RESOLUTION NO. 99-269 RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDED PUD FOR WILLOW CREEK ESTATES, THIRD ADDITION, 1114 SOUTH DAKOTA AVENUE FOR THE CITY OF AMES, IOWA WHEREAS,the developer is requesting approval of an amended Planned Unit Development(PUD) Plan for Willow Creek Estates,Third Addition,which is the property occupied by the Willow Creek Church of the Open Bible at 1114 South Dakota Avenue; and, WHEREAS,the amended PUD would allow the construction of a garage for the storage of lawn care equipment and would be located to the north of the existing parking lot and lined up with the east edge of the lot; and, WHEREAS,the PUD Plan was approved in 1983 and allows for the construction of a future school and sanctuary within the building envelopes specified on the plan; and, WHEREAS,this PUD amendment is necessary because this accessory building was not contemplated when the PUD Plan was approved; and, WHEREAS,the proposed garage is consistent with the intent for a PUD development and the design standards for a PUD Plan and should be approved with the following stipulations:that a 50-foot wide rights- of-way for South Dakota Avenue and Mortensen Road be dedicated at no cost to the City prior to the issuance of building permits;that the garage be painted the same color as the church; and,that the existing small tree located within the area where the garage will be constructed be moved to a nearby site if necessary; and, WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended that the amended PUD Plan be approved with the stipulations as listed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the amended Planned Unit Development(PUD)Plan for the Willow Creek Church of the Open Bible located at 1114 South Dakota Avenue be approved with the above-mentioned stipulations.
