HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Approving Contract and Bond for Airport Terminal Apron Improvements RESOLUTION NO. 99-251 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR CONSTRUCTION OF AMES MUNICIPAL AIRPORT TERMINAL APRON IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames,Iowa,such proj ect having been designated as the Ames Municipal Airport Terminal Apron Improvements;and,pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 19th day of May, 1999, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the City of Ames Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 27th day of April, 1999; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Manatt's,Inc.,of Ames, Iowa,in the amount of$517,729.10 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS,contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Manatt's,Inc.,of Ames,Iowa, in the amount of$517,729.10, dated the 13th day of July, 1999, for the construction of the Ames Municipal Airport Terminal Improvements as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof, and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual) of Des Moines, Iowa, as surety thereon, in the amount of$517,729.10 filed in connection therewith, be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 13th day of July, 1999. Diane R.
