RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDED PLANNED-INDUSTRIAL
(P-I) PLAN TO CONSTRUCT BUILDING ADDITION AND
EXPAND PARKING LOT AT 2901 SOUTH LOOP DRIVE IN
IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY RESEARCH PARK
FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA
WHEREAS, on April 14, 1998,the Council approved a P-I Plan to construct a multi-tenant
building on Lot 1 of the ISU Research Park, 3rd Addition; and,
WHEREAS, this building,known as Multi-Tenant Building#3, is located south of Airport
Road in Phase 2 of the Research Park, and it is placed so that another addition may be constructed
to the east of the structure; and,
WHEREAS,approval is requested for an addition to the original structure and for expansion
of the parking lot; and,
WHEREAS,the Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed this request and recommended
it be approved with the stipulation that evidence of the granting of an exception by the Research Park
Board of Directors to allow the construction of a loading dock on the side of the building that faces
a street and the screening of the loading dock from public view must be received by the City
Planning and Housing Department prior to the issuance of building permits for Phase II of Multi-
Tenant Building#3.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,
that the amended P-I Plan to allow the construction of Phase II Multi-Tenant Building#3 and the
expansion of the parking lot located at 2901 South Loop Drive in the Iowa State University Research
Park with the stipulation as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission is hereby
approved.
ADOPTED THIS 25th day of May, 1999.
