HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Approving Revisions to Transmission Agreement for Participation Power and Energy Between the City of Ames and Iowa State University RESOLUTION NO. 99-168 RESOLUTION APPROVING REVISIONS TO TRANSMISSION AGREEMENT FOR PARTICIPATION POWER AND ENERGY BETWEEN THE CITY OF AMES AND IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY WHEREAS,the City of Ames currently has an agreement to sell electric capacity to Iowa State University(ISU) during 1999; and, WHEREAS,ISU is seeking the City's assistance in helping to meet their electric needs through April 30, 2005, with the following amendments to our existing agreement: 1. A Participation Power and Energy Schedule(Schedule I of ISU Agreement)will be added to the City's Agreement with ISU. This Schedule establishes rates for capacity, energy, and transmission that will allow the City of Ames to recoup costs incurred from the City's transactions with Muscatine Power&Water Municipal System and MidAmerican Energy Company to satisfy ISU's needs. 2. An Interruptible Power and Energy Schedule (Schedule J of ISU Agreement) will be added to the City's Agreement with ISU whereby ISU has agreed to interrupt, or curtail, its purchase of specified amounts of power and energy when Ames needs the capacity during summer peak load conditions. WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Board of Regents to authorize the proposed revisions to the City's existing agreement with ISU. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the amendments to the Ames/ISU Transmission Service Agreement, specifically Schedule I and Schedule J, are hereby approved contingent upon the Board of Regents' approval of the said revisions.
