HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Approving Transmission Service Agreement Between the City of Ames and Mid American Energy Company RESOLUTION NO. 99-167 RESOLUTION APPROVING TRANSMISSION SERVICE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF AMES AND MIDAMERICAN ENERGY COMPANY WHEREAS, if the Board of Regents approve revisions (Schedule I and Schedule J) to the Ames/Iowa State University Transmission Service Agreement, it will be necessary for the City of Ames to enter into a five-year agreement with Muscatine Power & Water Municipal System for "Participation Power"; and, WHEREAS, in order to accomplish this transaction with Muscatine Power & Water Municipal System, it is imperative that a path be provided to transmit the energy between our two utilities; and, WHEREAS, the transmission service (path) will be provided by MidAmerican Energy Company; and, WHEREAS, in order to reserve the amount of capacity to transport the projected needs of the City and Iowa State University(ISU),the Agreement with MidAmerican Energy Company calls for the City to pay$19,118/MW annually for this transmission service(whether or not we transport energy over the path). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, that the five-year transmission service agreement with MidAmerican Energy Company is hereby approved contingent upon the Board of Regents approving the proposed revisions to the existing Ames/ISU Transmission Service Agreement.
