HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Contract and Bond for Renovation of Circulation and Media Departments at the Ames Public Library RESOLUTION NO. 99-64 RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT AND BOND FOR RENOVATION OF CIRCULATION AND MEDIA DEPARTMENTS AT THE AMES PUBLIC LIBRARY FOR THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS, this City Council has heretofore determined it advisable and necessary that certain improvements be constructed in the City of Ames, Iowa, such project having been designated as the Renovation of Circulation and Media Departments at the Ames Public Library pursuant to notice and hearing, bids were received on the 19th day of January, 1999, as called for in the detailed plans and specifications as prepared by the City of Ames Public Works Department and filed with the City Clerk on the 16th day of December, 1998; and, WHEREAS,this Council has heretofore determined that the bid of Bergstrom Construction,Inc., of Des Moines,Iowa,in the amount of$32,300 is the lowest and best bid submitted for the construction of said project; and, WHEREAS, contract in the form provided in said plans and specifications has been executed by said contractor, and satisfactory performance bond has been filed by said contractor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as follows: Section 1. The contract between the City of Ames,Iowa,and Bergstrom Construction,Inc.,of Des Moines,Iowa,in the amount of$32,300,dated the 26th day of January, 1999,for the Renovation of the Circulation and Media Departments at the Ames Public Library as provided for in the detailed plans and specifications referred to in the preamble hereof,and the performance bond of the said contractor with Merchants Bonding Company of Des Moines,Iowa,as surety thereon,in the amount of$32,300 filed in connection therewith,be and the same are hereby approved. Section 2. All resolutions or order or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extend of such conflict. ADOPTED THIS 11th day of March, 1999. C!�?- LJA-�-" d� Diane R.
