HomeMy WebLinkAbout~Master - Approving Various Urban Revitalization Tax Exemptions for Improvements Performed on Various Properties within Urban Revitalization Areas RESOLUTION NO. 99-60 RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIOUS URBAN REVITALIZATION TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED ON VARIOUS PROPERTIES WITHIN URBAN REVITALIZATION AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF AMES,IOWA WHEREAS,Joe Carter and David Carter have submitted an application dated February 26, 1998, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 113 Main Street; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No. 1 in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule A. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS,Lynn D.Gaulke has submitted an application dated November 2, 1998,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 401 Gilchrist; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No. 1 in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule C. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS,Dickson and Luann Jensen have submitted an application dated January 20, 1999, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 621 Douglas Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No. 1 in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban 1 Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule C. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS, Heartland Investments has submitted an application dated September 21, 1998, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 116 Clark Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No. 1 in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule A. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS,Robert J.and Bonita M.Gelina has submitted an application dated October 5, 1998, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 128-134 Campus Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No.4 in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule A. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS,Hyland Heights Apts. LLC has submitted applications dated December 14, 1998, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa,requesting to receive exemptions from taxation on the 2 actual value added by improvements to properties located at 131 N. Hyland; 145 N. Hyland; and 119, 123, and 129 N. Sheldon Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said properties are located within Urban Revitalization Area No.4 in Ames,Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting each said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on each said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule A for each property. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS,Janet E. McKee has submitted an application dated January 29, 1999,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 233 N. Sheldon Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No.4 in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule A. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS,Abrego Ames,Inc.,d/b/a University Inn has submitted an application dated January 18, 1999, to the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 229 S. Duff Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No. 5 in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, 3 WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule A. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS,Dayton Hudson Corporation has submitted an application dated January 13, 1999, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 320 S. Duff Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No. 5 in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule C. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS,First American Bank has submitted an application dated January 25, 1999,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 1530 S. Duff Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No. 5 in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule B. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS, Robert J. and Bonita M. Gelina have submitted an application dated October 5, 1998,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 420 S. Fourth Street; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No. 5 in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, 4 WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule A. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS, Kriz-Davis Co., has submitted an application dated April 30, 1998, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 202 SE Fifth Street; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No.5 in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule C. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS,Paul Agre Corp.,d/b/a Ramada Inn has submitted an application dated January 20, 1999, to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive an exemption from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to property located at 1206 S. Duff Avenue; and, WHEREAS,said property is located within Urban Revitalization Area No. 5 in Ames,Iowa,as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS, the improvement on said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule A. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS,Jensen Design Build, Inc.,has submitted applications dated January 20, 1999,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive exemptions from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to properties located at 3306,3308,3318,3320,3322,and 3324 Emerald Drive; and, 5 WHEREAS,said properties are located within Urban Revitalization Area No.6 in Ames,Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting each said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on each said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicant is requesting Exemption Schedule C for each property. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WHEREAS,William and Kelly Moore have submitted applications dated January 21, 1999,to the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,requesting to receive exemptions from taxation on the actual value added by improvements to properties located at 3310,3312,3314,and 3316 Emerald Drive;and, WHEREAS,said properties are located within Urban Revitalization Area No.6 in Ames,Iowa, as previously established by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa; and, WHEREAS,the improvement project respecting each said property is in conformance with the Urban Revitalization Plan as officially adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,as well as the Land Use Policy Plan and Zoning Ordinance; and, WHEREAS,the improvement on each said property was made during the time in which such improvements are eligible to the tax exemption as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Plan as adopted by the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, and as set forth in the Urban Revitalization Act as adopted by the Legislature of the State of Iowa and signed by the Governor of the State of Iowa; and, WHEREAS, said applicants are requesting Exemption Schedule B for each property. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ames,Iowa,that said applications are hereby approved and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward said applications and a copy of this resolution to the Ames City Assessor with a statement complying with the provisions of Section 4 of the Urban Revitalization Act by March 1, 1997.
